Two Insurance Agent's Stories: Elsie Campbell and Rosa Johnson

Insurance Agents were the salespeople for North Carolina Mutual Life, but they did more than just sell the policies that kept the company going. In cities all over the Southern and Eastern United States, the were the public face of the company. Although the majority of agents were male, the majority of the most successfull agents were women. Elsie Campbell, of Norfolk Virginia, and Rosa Johnson, of Atlanta Georgia, were two of these highly successful women. Ms. Johnson was one of the first women to sell over $2 million worth of policies in one year, and both were regular attendees at The Presidents Club, an annual, all-expenses paid, invitation-only conference for the top agents. In the audio documentary below, the two women tell about their passion for sales, their struggles as women in a male-dominated field, their engagment in the communities they served, and their strategies for success!
